Ransomware recovery
Backup that still works after a ransomware attack
Ransomware groups target backups first. If they can encrypt or delete your backup copies, you have nothing to recover from. We design backup so that at least one copy stays out of an attacker's reach.
Immutable, isolated and offline copies
We combine immutable snapshots, WORM storage, separate credentials, multi-person approval for deletions and, where it makes sense, offline tape or an isolated recovery copy.
Following the 3-2-1 principle, you keep three copies of your data on two types of media, with one copy off-site or isolated.

Data backup questions we hear from UAE businesses
How much do data backup services cost in Dubai?
It depends on how much data you protect, the number and type of workloads, retention periods, where backup copies are stored, the platform and licensing model, and whether you want us to manage the service. We scope each requirement and provide a written quotation.
Should we back up to the cloud or on-premises?
Often both. Local backup gives the fastest restores, while a cloud or off-site copy protects against site loss and ransomware. We design the mix around your recovery times, data volumes, bandwidth and data residency requirements.
How often should business data be backed up?
As often as you can afford to lose data. Critical databases may need backups every few minutes or continuous protection, while file shares are often protected daily. We agree a recovery point for each system rather than one schedule for everything.
What is the 3-2-1 backup rule?
Keep at least three copies of your data, on two different types of storage, with one copy off-site or isolated. Many organisations now add an immutable or offline copy and regular restore testing to that rule.
What is an immutable backup and do we need one?
An immutable backup cannot be changed or deleted until its retention period ends, even by an administrator account. It is one of the most effective protections against ransomware, which usually tries to destroy backups before encrypting production systems.
How do we know our backups will actually restore?
By testing them. We run scheduled restore tests of files, virtual machines and applications, record the results and recovery times, and fix issues before you depend on the backup in a real incident.
Can our backup data stay in the UAE?
Yes. Backup copies can be kept on-premises or in UAE-based locations. We review your regulatory and contractual data residency requirements as part of the design.
Does Microsoft back up our Microsoft 365 data?
Microsoft keeps the service running and offers retention features, but it is not the same as an independent backup you control. Deleted, corrupted or encrypted data can be lost once retention windows pass. See our Microsoft 365 backup page.
Can you take over and fix our existing backup environment?
Yes. We regularly take over NetBackup, Cohesity, Backup Exec, DLO and Veeam environments, review their health, fix failing jobs and bring them under managed support.
