Is Virtech an authorised Cohesity partner in the UAE?
Yes. Virtech is a Cohesity Associate Partner based in Dubai, and Cohesity named Virtech its Best Services Partner for the Middle East in 2025. We design, deploy, support and manage Cohesity across the UAE and remotely across the GCC.
What is Cohesity DataProtect?
Cohesity DataProtect is Cohesity's backup and recovery software. It protects virtual machines, physical servers, databases, file shares, Microsoft 365 and cloud workloads from one platform, with features designed for ransomware resilience and fast recovery.
What happened between Cohesity and Veritas?
On 10 December 2024, Cohesity completed its combination with Veritas' enterprise data protection business, which includes NetBackup. The remaining Veritas businesses, including Enterprise Vault and InfoScale, became Arctera.
Do we have to migrate from NetBackup to Cohesity DataProtect?
No. NetBackup continues as a Cohesity product. Some organisations keep NetBackup, some move to DataProtect and many run both for a while. We assess your environment and help you choose the path that suits your recovery objectives, skills and budget.
Can you support our existing Cohesity cluster?
Yes. We support Cohesity clusters we did not deploy, including health checks, troubleshooting, upgrades and capacity planning, and coordinate with Cohesity support when needed.
What is Cohesity Gaia?
Cohesity Gaia is Cohesity's AI assistant for backed-up data. It lets authorised users search and ask questions in natural language across data protected by Cohesity. Whether it suits you depends on your data, licensing and governance requirements, which we can review with you.
Cohesity or Rubrik: how do they compare?
Both are modern data security and backup platforms with strong ransomware recovery features. Differences show up in workload coverage, architecture, licensing, existing skills and how each fits your current estate. As a Cohesity partner we are open about that, and we will compare the options honestly against your requirements.
Cohesity or Veeam: which should we choose?
Veeam is widely used in virtualised environments. Cohesity is often chosen when organisations want one platform for many workload types, file and object data, and built-in cyber resilience at scale. We support both Veeam and Cohesity, so we can give a practical recommendation for your environment.
Do you offer Cohesity training?
We provide administrator workshops and knowledge transfer during and after projects. Official Cohesity courses and certifications are delivered and issued by Cohesity.
