GITEX Global 2025: Virtech Named Cohesity Best Services Partner, Middle East

Five days, more than 6,800 exhibitors, more steps than our watches could count, and one award we will be talking about for a long time.

GITEX Global 2025, the 45th edition, ran from 13 to 17 October 2025 at Dubai World Trade Centre, with a second venue at Dubai Harbour. Artificial intelligence was everywhere, from the opening keynotes to the coffee queues. So was the question that follows it: can you protect, govern and recover the data that AI runs on?

Virtech joined our vendor partners Cohesity and Arctera for the week. Virgil Dobos, Iftekhar Dalvi, Lucian Isaia and Abdul Razack represented Virtech, working alongside Mesut Mert and the Cohesity team.

Best Services Partner, Middle East

At GITEX, Cohesity announced its FY26 Partner Awards for the Middle East and Emerging Markets region. Virtech was named Best Services Partner (Middle East).

Cohesity said the awards recognise partners' performance in cloud, strategic growth, technical innovation and the implementation of Cohesity solutions.

For a team our size, this is a tremendous achievement. It is also the award we wanted most. Selling licences is one thing. Designing, deploying, migrating and supporting them so they actually recover data on a bad day is another. A services award says customers trust the work that happens after the purchase order.

The credit goes to our engineers. They work through late-night cut-overs, tested restores and the occasional "it was working yesterday" call. And thank you to our customers, who give us the chance to earn it every day.

What we heard at GITEX 2025

• AI is a data problem first. Every AI conversation ended up at the same place: where is the data, who can see it and is it clean?
• Cyber resilience beats cyber hope. Organisations want backups that are immutable, isolated and tested, with a recovery plan that has actually been rehearsed.
• Identity matters. Protecting and recovering Active Directory came up again and again. If identity is down, nothing comes back.
• Sovereignty. Data residency and control are now board-level topics across the Gulf.
