01
Training for administrators and support teams
Enterprise Vault administration involves more than checking whether a service is running. Your team needs to understand how archiving, storage, indexing and retrieval fit together, what a warning means, and when a fault requires another infrastructure team. A useful training plan gives each role a clear scope and a repeatable way to collect evidence before making changes.
New administrators can build a foundation in the architecture and day-to-day controls. Experienced engineers can focus on troubleshooting, maintenance or an operational handover. Service desk teams may need a narrower workshop on user access, search symptoms and escalation information. Infrastructure owners can benefit from understanding how SQL, storage, Exchange and backup arrangements affect archive operations.
We begin with your team’s existing experience and learning goals. The agreed plan identifies the intended audience, prerequisites, product release, modules and delivery format. If your organization needs an official principal course, we confirm its current syllabus and availability separately from any Virtech-designed workshop.
02

03
Enterprise Vault administration subjects
Administration training can cover the architecture, Administration Console, policies, targets and tasks, archive access and the monitoring needed for daily operations. We select examples that match the enabled workloads rather than assuming every estate archives the same sources or uses the same client components.
Storage subjects can include Vault Stores, partitions, capacity indicators and the relationship between archived content and indexes. Indexing and search sessions can explain how to recognize processing delays, failed conditions and retrieval symptoms. Queue discussions can introduce Microsoft Message Queuing, commonly called MSMQ, and its role where applicable to the installed configuration.
Retention sessions explain technical configuration and the effect of approved policies. Your organization’s records, legal and compliance owners remain responsible for deciding retention and legal-hold requirements. Training does not authorize administrators to change those requirements or delete archived content.
Depending on the syllabus, other subjects may include Exchange targets, journal processing, PST handling, reporting and backup coordination. Recovery topics establish dependencies and the purpose of a tested recovery procedure; they do not imply that a classroom exercise validates your production disaster-recovery plan.
04
Enterprise Vault troubleshooting subjects
Troubleshooting workshops can teach an evidence-first method. Start with the affected workload and user impact, establish when the problem began, and record recent changes. Review relevant events, task status, queue trends, indexing conditions and dependency information before choosing the next diagnostic step.
For example, a workshop can examine a journal-processing delay and show how to separate a task symptom from an upstream delivery issue. A search exercise can distinguish an access problem from an item that has not completed indexing. The exercise and diagnostic approach are selected for the agreed release and workload.
SQL, storage, Windows and messaging dependencies need coordinated investigation. The aim is to help learners explain what they observed, preserve useful diagnostic information and involve the right owner. Commands and corrective actions must be appropriate to the release, permissions and approved change process.
We can also discuss how to prepare a support escalation: describe the symptom, affected scope, relevant versions, timeline, business impact and evidence already collected. Live production faults should be handled through an agreed support engagement rather than treated as classroom exercises.
05
Onsite online and custom delivery
Virtech offers onsite and online instructor-led training. UAE organizations can discuss delivery at their premises, including Dubai and other emirates. GCC teams can discuss online delivery with a schedule that suits their participants. Location, travel, class size, session timing and delivery language are confirmed in the proposal; English is the supported language.
Online preparation should establish connectivity, participation tools and any permissions needed for demonstrations or exercises. Onsite preparation covers the training space, participant equipment and access arrangements. Lab availability, hosting, release, licences and learner access are agreed before booking. Hands-on labs, recordings or take-home environments should not be assumed to be included in every offer.
A custom workshop can use approved diagrams, sanitized reports and runbooks to connect the lesson to your operating model. We agree what may be shared and how confidential information is protected. Archive content, passwords and personal data should not be submitted through the training enquiry form.
Environment-specific discussion can be valuable after deployment, an upgrade or a change in administrator responsibilities. Separate implementation, configuration changes, health assessments and incident resolution are scoped as services where required. Training does not replace those activities or the controls needed to carry them out.
06
Choosing the right release and prerequisites
Tell us the Enterprise Vault release you operate, enabled archiving workloads, integrations and the work each learner performs. Older course listings can still appear in search results, so the course title alone is not enough to establish suitability. We confirm the release and applicable learning objectives before recommending a plan.
Prerequisites depend on the course. Administration workshops may require familiarity with Windows administration, messaging concepts and archive responsibilities. Advanced troubleshooting needs stronger platform knowledge. We assess readiness when scoping a workshop; an official course follows the principal’s published prerequisites.
If learners have different levels of experience, we can discuss separate foundation and advanced sessions. A role-specific plan helps service desk staff understand escalation without requiring them to perform privileged administrative work. Course duration and team size follow the agreed scope rather than an assumed fixed package.
07
Certification assistance and principal courses
Virtech can assist with course selection and certification preparation together with the relevant principals. Vendor examinations and certifications are provided through the principal’s programme, not awarded by Virtech. We confirm the available credential, covered release, eligibility, registration route and applicable terms before describing a certification pathway.
Completing training is different from earning an exam-based vendor certification. A course-completion record or learning badge, where available, reflects its own stated requirements. An exam voucher, attempt, pass or professional credential is not automatically included in a workshop. Ask us to confirm exactly what the quoted offer provides; no pass outcome is guaranteed.
Where an official course is requested, the proposal identifies the delivering organization and the applicable authorization. Virtech-designed workshops are described as custom training. This distinction allows your procurement and learning teams to compare the curriculum, practical exercises and credential requirements accurately.
08
Instructor and partner credentials
Virtech’s certified Enterprise Vault instructor capability is supported by a team working on implementation and support assignments. That operational experience informs administration and troubleshooting discussions.
Virtech holds Arctera Gold Partner status. This is a partner designation; any specific course-delivery authorization is confirmed separately for the selected offering. We can provide relevant instructor and programme evidence during scoping without publishing consultant names.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can training be delivered at our UAE office?
Yes. Onsite training is available, subject to the agreed location, facilities, dates and proposal. Online instructor-led delivery is also available.
How long is an Enterprise Vault course?
Duration depends on the chosen syllabus and delivery format. We confirm the hours or days in your proposal.
Are hands on labs included?
Lab and exercise arrangements depend on the offer. Confirm their availability, hosting, product release, licences and learner access in the training proposal.
Does attending training make me vendor certified?
