Some partnerships change their name. The good ones don't change their phone number.

From 9 to 12 February 2025, the LEAP technology conference filled the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Centre in Malham under the theme "Into New Worlds". Virtech was there to join a partner we have worked with for many years, now under a new name: Arctera.

Virgil Dobos and Lucian Isaia represented Virtech. We spent the week with the Arctera team, including members of its leadership who had travelled in from abroad.

Why this LEAP mattered

Arctera was only a few weeks old. In December 2024, Cohesity completed its combination with Veritas' enterprise data protection business, and the remaining businesses became Arctera. That includes Enterprise Vault, InfoScale and Backup Exec. (We explain what changed, and who to call, in Veritas, Cohesity and Arctera: What Changes for Your IT Team?.)

So LEAP 2025 was one of Arctera's first big outings in the Kingdom. It was also a chance for customers to hear first-hand that the products they rely on every day have a dedicated home and a roadmap.

What we heard in Riyadh

LEAP is huge. The organisers reported more than 200,000 visitors and over 1,800 exhibitors across the four days. Under all the noise about AI, three practical topics kept coming up at the Arctera stand:

  • Compliance and data residency. Saudi organisations want to know where their archived email and files live, who can reach them and how long they must be kept.
  • Continuity. Customers running Enterprise Vault and InfoScale wanted reassurance on support, renewals and upgrade paths after the split.
  • AI readiness. Everyone wants AI. Fewer people want to talk about the twenty years of unclassified email it will be trained on. We do.

Where Virtech fits in

Virtech has designed, upgraded, migrated and supported Enterprise Vault and InfoScale for organisations across the GCC for many years. The vendor name on the logo changed. Our engineers, our runbooks and our phone number did not.

If your team is planning its next step with Arctera, start with the facts about your environment:

Shukran, Riyadh

Thank you to the Arctera team for a warm welcome, and to everyone who stopped by for a conversation and a coffee (or three). Saudi Arabia is moving fast, and we are proud to help its organisations keep their data compliant, available and recoverable along the way.
